Harvest – Progress

I have separated the ‘wheat’ from the ‘chaff’,  just be letting the wind do its thing, you really have to do it to understand the phrase in Psalm One But now I have a nice four ounces of wheat grain, there is probably just over that left to harvest eight ounces will make one loaf, just perfect!!  Our theme for the harvest is ‘Bread for the Journey’  Hopefully if the bread works we will distribute it as people leave.

Preparing for harvest

This is the first harvest of some wheat I grew this year as an experiment.  I only grew a small patch, so harvesting when each stalk was ready was easy.  It’s drying at the moment, but when ready I’ll be preparing it and grinding some flour.  When all is harvested and prepared I hope to have enough to bake a loaf for our harvest festival, big enough for everyone to have a small piece to take away -a la ‘Blessed Bread’ in the orthodox tradition and talk about bread, the process, food and time.  I might even use this...

    Why do people always leave them to the last minute, then complain because the books are not available? Eh, Makes no sense! But we still do it!!!! I have now changed the title of my final three essays for the third and final time, just so the available books are relevant!
