Amelia Farm Day 5

One week down, three to go!

Curry, burgers and sauce with a field of rice – was what they cooked today in their ‘life skills class’ yummy.

After a week on the farm I am getting a sense of alienation from the different groups working there. It is by no means one group working together. The pottery / pastoral chat corner, teaching and activities all seem disparate parts and as yet I do not see them as a whole. There is a whole lot of really good work being done on the farm and those kids who are lucky enough to be part of it really do benefit, but I sense different directions.

Perhaps this is healthy especially working with people who don’t even know what they want!

It is like a church, everyone doing their part, but none seeing the whole picture.

No not really But am really having to think about yesterdays two sermons, not to mention the predominant theme of blood sacrifice in the worship session On a lighter note, was driving home, asked by fellow traveller what I thought of the first sermon, replied ‘it was crap’ and lo a flock of seagulls deposited their guts onto the windscreen!! Oh my god how we laughed!!
