Advent

Well it's advent again, the readings from the lectionary this sunday are nicely obscure, just my luck it is a family service.

"Watch ye, therefore, for ye know not when the master of the house cometh" Matt. 24:44.  I always remember the King James version of this because of the Film Shawshank Redemption, not that either of these things will help on Sunday…

However I did have a little salvation in a charity called ALTERnativity.  The reflection for the 2nd of Advent should be enough to keep even the most mentally inactive congregant (during the sermon)busy.

"This advent reflect on the question 'what is Christmas preparing you for?' rather than 'How shall I prepare for Christmas?'"

  • Hair today…

Gone on Friday!! I spent yesterday (the parts that I wasn’t roofing a barn or wiring a childrens play area or welding) trying to convince the others at Amelia Farm that they really shouldn’t cut my hair with either the lawnmower, a pair of loppers, or a wood saw. In the end, the photo for the local paper was of two of the lads cutting my hair with a wood saw. It remains long though, the last few days of wondering what it is like to feel the cold around the head remain. The money is rolling in and that is what matters!! Photo’s will be posted to prove the event in due course!
